The Loddon School® is both a home and school for 28 children who have the most severe and complex learning difficulties.  The children live at the school 52 weeks a year, so the School is a home which provides education, leisure, play and outings.

We are seeking a practical and capable full time Site Manager to lead our experienced maintenance team and manage Health and Safety for the Site.  The main purpose of the role is to manage, organise and provide a wide range of facilities services to the school, resulting in a safe, welcoming environment for children, staff, parents and visitors.

The Loddon Foundation currently operates across two main sites, The Loddon School in Sherfield-on-Loddon, and Field House Barn (training facility) in Sherborne St John, plus we have three residential houses near to the school which provide student and staff accommodation. We also have a fleet of vehicles, an indoor swimming pool, and 10 acres of land including a paddock and run a smallholding with farm animals. Our buildings range from a Victorian rectory to a state of the art new build with plans for additional building work on site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the security of all sites; the supervision of contractors; maintaining a tidy and safe site; preventative, reactive and planned maintenance for all locations, working with School and Charity Leadership team members and working directly for the Principal.

Applicants will ideally have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in a maintenance role, preferably in a similar environment, coupled with having worked for at least two years in a managerial or senior supervisory capacity. Being well versed in Health and Safety and Fire Safety law and regulation is essential and a D1 driving licence is an advantage.   You should have good interpersonal skills, be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work to provide a first class service.  The role will involve the operation of machinery and some physical work.
